Online mobile phone retailer buymobiles wanted to increase its database of active fans and better engage with its existing audience over the Christmas period. The company had already run small newsfeed competitions across its social media channels and wanted to do something bigger to promote its exclusive seasonal deals.
As buymobiles wanted to build its database of fans, not just on social platforms, we built a standalone game that we embedded into a dedicated landing page and built as a Facebook application.
Users had to control Santa on his sleigh and direct presents down chimneys to gain points. We ran a competition to incentivise gameplay offering daily spot prizes to players and an overall prize for the top place on the leaderboard.
In order to be in with a chance of winning a prize, users had to leave their contact details including email address.
In the two weeks that the game was live, it garnered more than 10,000 gameplays and resulted in the collection of more than 3,000 unique new contacts.
